About Us

At a glance:

Town & Country Humane Society is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization founded in 1992 to fill a much-needed vacuum in Glenn County.  We are a completely "no-kill" shelter providing care and comfort to our residents until they are adopted or pass away, one of the few in the state.  We are funded entirely by donations and grants and the shelter is maintained by one paid employee and a handful of volunteers.

Mission Statement

It is the mission of Town & Country Humane Society to protect animals from abuse, neglect, exploitation and overpopulation. To give the homeless a safe haven until they are adopted into loving homes. To never adopt an animal for commercial purposes or financial gain. To support legislation that broadens the animal cruelty laws and increases the penalty to violators. To educate the public on responsible pet ownership targeting our youth: the next generation of pet owners.
